Ginkgo ginseng
What is ginkgo ginseng?
Gingko ginseng is the combination of the phytoestrogenic herbs gingko and ginseng. Whilst these two herbs are potent cures for ailments in their own right, when combined the attributes of their curative abilities can change significantly. Gingko in combination with ginseng is said to greatly enhance the mental abilities of human beings. Gingko and ginseng by themselves are phytoestrogenic herbs that are capable of combating a number of menopause symptoms that women suffering from an hormonal imbalance can sometimes fall victim to.
Menopause and gingko ginseng
Vital hormones
Estrogen, progesterone and testosterone are all important hormones in maintaining a healthy balance for women. Estrogen is perhaps considered the most important however and this is due to its ties to the reproductive system. In addition to being fundamental in a woman's success in conceiving and birthing an offspring it also has key ties to the appearance of a woman. From youth estrogen is present in women's bodies in order to define their physicality, from wider hips to softer skin.
Menopause is a stage of life all women will enter at varying points of their mature life. There's no finite measurement for when women will enter perimenopause, menopause or postmenopause but all of these biological stages occur when there's an estrogen imbalance in women's bodies. A deficiency in estrogen is usually as a result of women's estrogen receptors losing their ability to sufficiently reproduce important hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. When the human body lacks some of the essential hormones needed to keep it fit and healthy it can result in a number of noticeable side effects. Such side effects, known as menopause symptoms can include: Hot flashes, night sweats, depression, mood swings, hair and loss and memory lapses. The final menopause symptom mentioned can often have an immense impact on a woman-s quality of life and for this reason; treatment through gingko ginseng is often sought after.
Clinical studies and gingko ginseng
In one particular landmark clinical study of the memory enhancing capabilities if gingko ginseng, it was proven that gingko ginseng used against a placebo showed a definite improvement in the memory capacity of a large test group. Such results were found to improve a human beings ability to store, hold and retrieve information. These benefits were sometimes recorded after just one hour. Such results were considerable more prominent with a combination of the herb than with either of the herbs alone.
What the study of gingko ginseng proves
Despite the positives the test subjects for gingko ginseng were healthy middle aged people. A study into whether the same level of efficacy could be realized with regards menopausal women is sill debatable.
What options do women consider for menopause treatment? Gingko ginseng is a good treatment option for memory lapses, but the combination of phytoestrogenic herbs is not useful beyond this. In addition to this the recent landmark clinical study was tested on a cross section of people who are not suffering from a hormonal imbalance. Other treatment options for menopause are often considered by women. Non-estrogenic herbs can offer women relief from menopause symptoms with many of the dangerous side effects.
